The Men of The Living Word is a social network of inter-generational men who balance faith, family, and Christian fellowship. Our men are involved in every aspect of church life. We are deacons, ushers, evangelists, praise team members, ministry leaders, volunteers and more. The Men of The Living Word meet every six weeks for food, fellowship, and fun, while also studying the Word of God. Our many discussions range from current events, personal concerns, men’s health, as well as healing and transforming our community through the Word of God.
The Women’s Ministry is comprised of a group of well-rounded women who love Christ and have a strong desire to grow in the Word. The Ministry meets every six weeks to discuss the spiritual needs we have, as well as issues that we face as women. Under the leadership of our First Lady, and guidance of our Pastor, the Women’s Ministry is able to create a positive atmosphere for women to fellowship with one another by speaking transparently and truly getting to know and love one another.
Marriage is one of the biggest relationship changes that occur in our adult lives, and happens to be the only one that is bound by a covenant with God. The Bible instructs us to love and respect our spouses (Ephesians 5:22-33) no matter what differences we may have. This ministry aims to support and teach married couples how to carry out God’s plan for their marriage. Through counseling, fellowship, and various functions, we provide the opportunity for married couples to learn from others’ experiences and build an even stronger relationship with their spouses, while keeping Christ in the center of their marriage.
“The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him” (Exodus 15:2).
Here at the Living Word Church, we believe in fostering an environment full of love, because we know that without Love we are nothing (1 Corinthians 13:2). Each and every Sunday we honor our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by praising His Holy name! It is our goal to create an atmosphere of worship that will open your ears and your heart, so that you are ready and able to receive God’s word. We know that it is through God’s grace and mercy that we live to see another day (Romans 3:24 & Exodus 33:19), so it is our mission to praise him and exalt him for every one of those days.
The Bible teaches us that Christ suffered greatly for our sins so that we could have peace. Because of this, we are healed through Him (Isaiah 53:5). Our Nursing Home Ministry allows us to put into action one of the many things Christ has called us to do – spread The Gospel. Our church makes monthly visits (every 4th saturday) to The Meadow Springs Acute Care Facility in Plymouth Meeting, Pa. This ministry’s main focus is to uplift and encourage residents with the Word of God and to make sure that they know that they are loved. Following a short sermon, members spend time with the residents individually to pray together. Through this interaction, both parties are blessed and come away feeling spiritually fulfilled.
Children are a blessing from the Lord! We strive to empower, and equip them with knowledge of the Kingdom of God. Our vision is for the children to know Him, and provide an opportunity for them to encounter Him. Children have a chance to learn more about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ during Sunday sermons, where the children are excused into the care of the Children’s church. Every Sunday, children learn more of the Word of God through both formal instruction and fun and engaging activities. Our hope is to “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22: 6, KJV)
One of the major themes that The Bible teaches is to give to those in need and that it is better to give than to receive (Acts 20:35). In keeping with these teachings, at The Living Word Church, we strive to serve our community by providing access to quality, gently-used clothing. Through this ministry, we are able to not only bless those who may be in need, but to also meet non-members and non-believers and share The Good News.
The Audiovisual Ministry functions to support and help the needs of the church, the Praise Team, our Pastor, and above all to honor and serve God. We are devoted to our Lord, the church, and reaching and changing lives both inside and outside of the church. We help to facilitate quality sound and video during all aspects of service including, invocation, prayer, announcements, testimonies, pastor’s sermons, praise and worship, and all other areas as needed. The Bible says, “whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31, NIV). We strive for excellence and are committed to serving the Kingdom of God, just as our Lord Jesus was here to serve.
